mikMPD
A native SwiftUI remote control for your Music Player Daemon (MPD) server, built for iPhone and iPad.
About
mikMPD is a lightweight, native SwiftUI app for iPhone and iPad that lets you control an MPD (Music Player Daemon) server running on your home network — directly from your device. Browse your music library with rich album art and artist info, manage playlists and the queue, listen to internet radio or an audio CD, and even stream the audio straight to your phone.
Features
- Now Playing — album art, synced lyrics, seek bar, full transport controls, volume, and repeat / shuffle / single / consume modes, plus bitrate and format info.
- Library — browse by album, artist, genre, or playlist, with search filtering and Wikipedia summaries for artists and albums.
- Playlists & queue — create, rename, delete, and reorder stored playlists; manage the queue with drag-to-reorder, swipe actions, and consume mode.
- Internet radio & CD playback — built-in stations plus your own custom stations, and audio CD playback with per-track control.
- File browser & search — navigate your MPD server's folder structure, or search songs, artists, and albums with instant results.
- Outputs & partitions — toggle audio outputs, switch between partitions, and move outputs between them.
- Multiple servers — save any number of MPD servers, auto-discover nearby ones over Bonjour, with passwords kept safely in the Keychain.
- Listen on Phone — stream audio directly to your device, with background playback and lock screen controls.
How to Use
- Make sure you have an MPD server running and reachable on your local network.
- Open mikMPD and go to More → Connection.
- Pick a server discovered automatically over Bonjour, or add one manually with its host, port, and password (if required).
- Browse your library, playlists, or queue, and use Now Playing to control playback.
- Optionally add internet radio stations, connect an audio CD drive, or turn on Listen on Phone to stream audio to your device.
Requires iOS 26.2 or later, and network access to an MPD server.
